Google Issues Stern Warning for non-English Sites Matt Cutts, noted Google Engineer, blogger and widely accepted as Google’s ambassador to Site Owners, Webmasters and the SEO Community issued an unusually strong warning concerning Web Spam on January 11, 2006: “If you work at a large company that has doorway pages, keyword stuffing, or other tricks against our webmaster quality guidelines in a non-English language, consider this a courtesy notice that Google will paying a lot more attention to spam in other languages in 2006. Please check your site for issues now to avoid any potential problems.” Specific Country references were not made, however those that appear on the radar are easily inferred by the languages mentioned in the warning. He went further noting that Google Webmaster Guidelines had been on line for some time in those languages: This is an unusually stern warning, citing examples and stating: "Search engine users in other countries and languages are just as tired of Web Spam as American users, and they deserve the best quality that Google can provide." We interpret these and other comments to mean that GOOGLE feels fairly confident in some of their recent algorithm changes launched during "Bourbon" and "Jagger" and intend to implement them for a large contingent across the world in 2006. Whether this sweep of the broom has anything to do with the “Big Daddy” update rumblings we are hearing about in the US, has yet to be determined. Matt often differentiates in his blog when it’s him speaking and when it is GOOGLE speaking. This warning comes over with a tone of assured authority, promised by definitive action, using a banned German Site as an example and including information on how to submit for re-inclusion when you get dropped from Google’s index. Read Matt Cutts Blog Warning for yourself. We can't imagine how it could be interpreted too far to the left or right. Keeping with Mountain Eagle Marketing policy, we attempt to help warn when SEO or SEM danger seems eminent. We applaud the continuing improvements by GOOGLE in their attempts to mature communication with the SEO Community. We hope everyone in the SEO Community will heed this warning with the gravity that it deserves and use their tools to help pass this important and timely message along. Countless businesses and livlihoods are at stake. This unprecidented announcement by GOOGLE is "Big Daddy" in our opinion, and it will dwarf anything we have seen in Search Engine algorithim update history, leaving behind a global footprint.
